Covid Aid monthly update: October 2022

Covid Aid has achieved some amazing milestones this past month, reaching more than 200,000 people across the UK with support, advice and information, and now having more than 1000 members of our Support Community – none of which would be possible without your continued support, for which we are incredibly grateful!
However, the need for help will be greater than ever this winter: for the 2 million people in the UK with Long Covid; the hundreds of thousands of families dealing with Covid-related bereavement; and those for whom life has not returned to normal. Please donate and get involved however you can to help us help the UK.
The headlines!
Over the past month we:
Reached the 200,000 milestone: We have now reached hundreds of thousands of people across the UK with support, advice, and information, an incredible achievement for a new charity
Passed 1000 members on the Covid Aid Support Community: Our online safe space becomes more vibrant than ever thanks to our wonderful existing members and new joiners. With them leading the way we’re adding to the Course, Groups, and other supportive resources aiding those who desperately need help
Secured People’s Postcode Trust funding: We received more than £20,000 from the grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery, which will keep us providing Long Covid support into 2023 – although there is so much more we want to do, which is why we’ll be launching our Covid Aid Christmas appeal soon
Welcomed our new Head of Content and Communications: Becca has joined the team and will be ensuring we publish more great Advice & Info articles, increase visibility and provide a voice for those living with Long Covid and other Covid-related issues, and continue to grow as the UK’s dedicated Covid-19 charity

Fundraiser of the Week
Sarah James ran the London Marathon on Sunday in memory of her Dad, who died very suddenly after contracting Covid-19 in September 2020.
She's been fundraising for Covid Aid to support others who have suffered like her family, or are trying to cope with the impact of Long Covid.
This October…
With winter approaching, we will be looking to grow our groups and courses to provide added support – including around the cost of living crisis – while publishing more helpful Advice and Information articles. Given that the number of people in the UK with Long Covid has increased to 2.3 million, we aim to be doing more than ever to help as well as ensuring there is more healthcare support, awareness, and research about the devastating consequence for far too many people.
We continue to be grateful for your support however you can provide it. Find out how you can get involved, please donate if you can – and spread the word about Covid Aid to your friends and family by sharing this update! We are enormously grateful for your support.
