covid:aid launches new sustainable merchandise with proceeds going towards people affected by the coronavirus pandemic

UK national Covid-19 charity, covid:aid, has launched an exclusive line of merchandise for men, women and children to help raise money for people across the UK whose lives have been significantly affected by Covid-19.

The collection, available on covidaid.teemill.com, includes T-shirts, hoodies, and tote bags in a range of colours and designs with sizes ranging from age 3-12 (Children) and XS-XXXL (Adults). All items are made using organic materials, produced from renewable energy with plastic-free packaging. This ensures the clothing is sustainable and promotes a circular fashion model, made to be reworn and repurposed rather than being burned or sent to landfill in a way that harms the environment.

Maria Blanchard, a volunteer Fashion Officer at covid:aid with over 15 years’ experience in fashion buying and e-commerce, helped to curate the collection. Maria joined covid:aid following the death of her father from Covid-19 in July 2021. She said, “I am so grateful to the team at covid:aid for their support and understanding when I lost my lovely dad to Covid. They have helped me so much and continue to do so. I am delighted to have been part of this project by designing the clothing for sale in the covid:aid online shop.”

covid:aid hopes that the new clothing line will encourage fundraisers and people who wish to show their support for the charity to wear the collection with pride while raising awareness for the ongoing effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Supporters are encouraged to share photos of themselves wearing the designs on social media, tagging @covidaidcharity.

Michael MacLennan, founder and CEO of covid:aid, said, “Over the past year, covid:aid has helped more than 100,000 people in the UK find the support they need to cope with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. But financial challenges like the cost-of-living crisis are making the situation difficult for the year ahead – especially as a charity that relies on the kind donations and generosity of our community. By wearing these designs while taking part in a fundraising activity, you can help us to help people across the UK and signal the vital need for ongoing Covid support.”
