Covid-19 Grief and Bereavement Counselling Support available through covid:aid

UK Covid-19 charity covid:aid has today launched professional bereavement counselling support for those affected by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Visitors to the website can access GriefChat, which has been created by bereavement experts. They will be able to chat online directly to a specially trained bereavement counsellor.

covid:aid Founder and CEO Michael MacLennan said: “As the charity has grown we have had more people approaching us for support specifically around loss, grief, and bereavement.

“We have provided this through our Advice and Information section as well as our Covid Matters podcast, with people able to speak to others who have been through similar experiences in our Covid-19 Support Community.

“We’re proud to be boosting our support capabilities through adding GriefChat, and allowing people to access specially trained bereavement counsellors for free. Even before news of the Omicron variant it was clear that our services will be in demand over Christmas and the festive season.

“covid:aid is funded by the generosity of the general public, and we’d like to thank our amazing donors for allowing us to provide this vital extra level of support to those who have been hit hardest by Covid-19 throughout the UK.”

The service is completely free, and will available Monday-Friday, 9am-9pm (except Bank Holidays) or by email out of these hours.
