Covid Aid Support Community wins “Best New Community” at CMX Awards

Award-winning charity, Covid Aid wins “Best New Community” at the CMX Global Community Industry Awards 2023.

CMX are the industry leader for online communities and this recognition of "Best New Community" was awarded to Covid Aid due to its significant growth and success in 2022.

The Covid Aid Support Community now has over 1,300 members who use the platform as a form of support for Covid-19 issues. It is an inclusive online space that provides a place for members to discuss the problems they are facing and take part in tailored online courses, expert Q&As, and group sessions. It also provides a range of supportive resources on a variety of matters which those significantly affected by Covid face on a daily basis.

The team and volunteers at Covid Aid have been fantastic in providing much-needed support to the members including hosting important support groups throughout 2022 and into the new year. It really is thanks to all their hard work that the charity has won such a prestigious award.

Head of Community, Emma said:

“We are incredibly grateful to have won the ‘Best New Community’ award at the CMX Global Community Industry Awards 2023. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, volunteers and the entire community who have supported us. Digital community initiatives play a vital role in the third sector, providing support and resources to people who need it the most when the lights go off elsewhere. The covid-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the lives of hundreds of thousands of people in the U.K. and we are committed to continuing our support for those who have been adversely affected by it.

“Online communities provide a valuable sense of connection and belonging for people who may feel isolated in their offline lives. For people living with the complexities of Long Covid, it can be especially important to offer the ability to connect with others going through a similar experience. As the lights go off elsewhere, aptly put by care and support advisor Esstta Griffiths, an online community can serve as a beacon of support and engagement, fostering a sense of community even in the darkest of times.”

A big thank you to CMX for this recognition and to Emma and the team for continuing to build this incredible community that continues to help those suffering.

With more than two million people in the UK living with Long Covid, the charity continues to deliver new courses and sessions to support those affected by Long Covid and other related issues.
